At Desert Sun Counselling and Resource Centre, we facilitate supportive programs to empower people of all ages to experience an enhanced quality of life in their homes, schools and communities.
We offer a wide variety of programs and resources for all ages. From counselling services to parenting supports, from anti-violence programs to crisis response, from aging-in-place programming to computer tutoring to so much more, Desert Sun offers simple, grassroots, personal resources that make life-changing differences in our community.
We want to build hope today for individuals and families and build a stronger, more resilient community for a brighter tomorrow.
Transportation
Do you like to drive? We need people to transport seniors and clients to appointments and to much-needed services and programming.
Community Kitchen
Do you like to cook and interact with people? Our programming helps provide hot nutritious meals in our Soup Kitchen and in our Mom and Tots program.
Community Garden
Do you like tending a garden and working outside? Maybe you would enjoy helping in the community garden?
Better @ Home Companion
Help adults to continue to live in their own homes! Assist with a variety of non-medical support services or simply provide them with much-needed companionship.
Safe Home
We support women and children fleeing abuse by providing them with living essentials and a safe place to stay. You can help by accompanying clients to essential appointments, providing childcare and assisting with day-to-day operations.
Fundraising and Events
Your role will be to help us at events to raise awareness and to align us with the financial resources we need to run our community-based programs.
